The Board of Rwanda Airports Company Ltd (RAC) has appointed Ms. Isabelle Umugwaneza as the Managing Director of the Company in acting capacity. Ms. Umugwaneza takes over from the outgoing Managing Director, Lt. Col. Pascal Nzaramba whose tenure ended recently.
The Rwanda Airports Company Ltd (RAC) held a handover ceremony for a smooth transition between the outgoing Managing Director and the incoming acting Managing Director. The ceremony was presided over by RAC Board Chairman, Mr. John Bosco Sebabi.
Ms. Umugwaneza has worked in a number of organizations including Thousand Hills Literacy where she worked as Project Manager and was responsible for providing technical assistance to the design and implementation of innovative projects aimed at transforming basic education in Rwanda with a special focus on raising pre-primary and primary schoolchildren literacy levels.
Also, she worked at Hong Kong Shue Yan University as an Assistant Lecturer where she taught and designed freshmen and sophomore English classes, assessed appropriateness and validity of English course content whilst also ensuring content covered broadened students’ cultural experience by facilitating debate about global social issues.
Ms. Umugwaneza holds a Master’s Degree in Social Psychology and Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Management from Manhattanville College.
Ms. Umugwaneza is expected to use her expertise and experience to drive the Rwanda Airports Company Ltd to the next level including promoting Rwanda’s Airports as prime destinations for airlines, diversifying aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue streams, overseeing the airports’ commercial activities as well as managing air-hub businesses, engineering and infrastructure development.
