The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) has announced the postponement of its events as a precaution against the COVID-19. AFRAA’s 9th Stakeholders’ Convention has been postponed to 26-28 July 2020.

“The African Airlines Association identifies with and joins the rest of the world, and specifically the global aviation industry, in collaborative efforts to collectively deal with and attempt to contain the universal pandemic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) which continues to spread across the globe,” the association stated.

According to the association, it is AFRAA’s responsibility to safeguard the health and well-being of its members, partners and stakeholders attending AFRAA’s events and limit the spread of the virus where possible.

“In light of the current travel restrictions arising from the situation, the 9th Aviation Stakeholders Convention has therefore been rescheduled to take place on 26-28 July 2020 in Nairobi. The dates of other affected meetings and workshops shall be communicated in due course,” AFRAA revealed.

“We thank you for your support and understanding, as we continue to empathize and unite with the rest of the world in dealing with this inconvenience caused by the prevailing circumstances, which continues to adversely affect the global aviation industry,” AFRAA also stated.
