DGTCAA Confirmed Chairman CANSO-Africa, As KCAA Readies To Host CANSO Africa Conference 2018

Civil Air Navigation Service Organisation (CANSO) is gearing up for the CANSO Africa Conference 2018 which will be hosted by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) 3-5 September in Mombasa, Kenya.
The conference will feature high-level panel discussions, interactive sessions and workshops addressing opportunities, challenges, best practice and future ATM developments in a rapidly developing region. The conference will also include an exhibition which demonstrates the latest technologies to improve ATM performance developed by CANSO Members, for CANSO Members.
Meanwhile, at the CANSO 22nd Annual General Meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand on 12th June 2018, the organisation has confirmed Mr. Hamza S. Johari, the Director General of Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), as the new CANSO Chairman for Africa Region for a period of three years.
This follows Mr. Johari’s appointment as the Chairman of the region in March 2018 in Madrid, Spain. As the CANSO Chairman for Africa, Mr. Johari has become a member of the CANSO Executive Committee (EXCOM) the governing organ of this important international organisation.
Teri Bristol, Chief Operating Officer, USA Federal Aviation Administration, continues to be the CANSO global Chairperson. The Vice Chairman is Rudy Keller from Canada. Other members are Martin Rolfe -England, Klaus Dieter Scheurle – Germany, Hamza S. Johari – Tanzania, Mark Cooper- England, Augustin Rodrigues Grellet – Agentina, Jan Klas – Czech Republic, Don Thoma – USA, Dr. Saleh Al Ghamdi – Saudi Arabia, Kevin Shum – Singapore and Captain Gilbert Kibe – Kenya.
