Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN has confirmed that Nigeria is set “to host the maiden edition of the Nigeria Aircraft Acquisition and Investment Summit (NAAIS) on the 1st and 2nd of April at the prestigious Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.”
In a statement by the Special Adviser, Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood “the summit will convene global aircraft lessors, aviation financiers, airline operators, airport concessionaires, policymakers, and investors to explore opportunities in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding aviation market.”
According to the statement, “with a population of over 220 million people, Nigeria represents one of Africa’s most promising aviation investment destinations. Passenger traffic is projected to grow from about 15–16 million today to 25.7 million by 2029, reflecting strong demand for air transport.”
Mr. Moshood added that “despite being Africa’s most populous nation, Nigeria currently ranks fifth in aviation seat capacity, highlighting significant opportunities for fleet expansion, aircraft leasing, and airport infrastructure investment. Across Africa, more than 1,600 new aircraft will be required between 2025 and 2044, positioning Nigeria as a key market for long-term aviation growth.”
The Nigeria Aircraft Acquisition and Investment Summit (NAAIS) will provide a platform for “Dialogue between Nigerian airlines and global aircraft lessors, Innovative aircraft financing solutions, Investment opportunities in airport concession programmes and Strengthening Nigeria’s aircraft leasing ecosystem.”
The statement that NAAIS is “aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the summit reflects Nigeria’s commitment to reforms, investor confidence, and sustainable aviation financing.”
Additionally, “by bringing regulators, operators, and global investors together, NAAIS aims to unlock the next phase of aviation-led economic growth in Nigeria.”
