The African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) in collaboration with the African Union (AU), African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat and African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) is set to host the first ever African Air Transport Convention and Expo 2026, tagged “Single African Sky and Sustainable Air Transport Development.” The event is set to take place from 15–19 June, 2026 at Lome, Togo.
According to AFCAC, the convention and expo will promote the development of accessible, connected, affordable, and sustainable air transport in Africa. The 5-day event is packed with exciting engagements which features ministerial sessions, panel discussions and plenary sessions, business and bilateral meetings, exhibition and networking.
AFCAC said: “This flagship continental event will bring together high-level representatives from across African Union Member States, from Ministers responsible for transport and aviation to Director-Generals of Civil Aviation Authorities, CEOs of airlines and airports, international organisations, aviation manufacturers, service providers, and development partners.”
AFCAC stated that the Convention and Expo will serve as “a unique platform where the key voices shaping Africa’s air transport sector come together to connect, collaborate, and lead the future of aviation.” AFCAC noted that the African Aviation Convention and Expo will be used to proudly champion the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), “Africa is one continent. Its skies should reflect that.”
