EgyptAir To Launch Services To Sydney

Sydney Airport has welcomed EgyptAir “as its newest airline with plans to launch a new service connecting Cairo, Singapore and Sydney from 2027, and creating a new air link between Australia and Egypt.”

Sydney Airport says, “the proposed service will be the first direct link from Sydney to Cairo for Singapore and Australia, with Egypt Sydney Airport’s largest unserved market in Africa for Australian travellers.”

Sydney Airport stated that “the service will provide passengers with convenient access to Cairo, one of the world’s oldest and most culturally significant cities, as well as onward connections across Egypt, Africa, Europe and the Middle East through EgyptAir’s extensive network.”

“The new airline heralds a record 54 airlines for Sydney Airport reinforcing its position as Australia’s leading international gateway, while the new service will strengthen connections between Australia and Egypt, with New South Wales home to the country’s largest Egyptian community, comprising more than 21,000 people.” Sydney Airport noted.

Sydney Airport CEO, Scott Charlton said: “This is a major milestone for our international network, delivering greater choice for passengers and unlocking new opportunities for tourism, trade and cultural links between Australia, Egypt and the broader region.”

Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir, Captain Ahmed Adel said: “Partnering with Sydney Airport is an important step in growing EgyptAir’s international network and strengthening links between Egypt, Singapore and Australia.”

Captain Adel added: “The new service will make travel between our regions easier and support growing demand for tourism, business, education and visiting friends and relatives. We look forward to welcoming passengers onboard and building stronger connections between Egypt and Sydney.”

“Announced at the El Alamein Air Show, the new service represents a meaningful improvement in connectivity between Australia, Southeast Asia and Africa, providing passengers with access to some of Egypt’s most recognised destinations, including Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Mediterranean coastline and the country’s growing tourism centres.” Sydney Airport added.
