Mr. Miguel Carneiro Replaces Mr. Nelson Oliveira As TAAG Angola Airlines’ CEO

TAAG Angola Airlines has confirmed “the appointment of the new members of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of the airline’s Transformation Programme and reinforcing its capacity to execute strategic priorities.”

TAAG stated that “the new governance structure results from the resolution approved by the airline’s shareholders and reflects TAAG’s ongoing commitment to strengthening corporate governance, management discipline and long-term sustainability, all of which are fundamental pillars supporting the modernization and growth of Angola’s national carrier.”

According to TAAG, “the leadership transition takes place at a particularly important moment for the airline, as TAAG continues to implement key initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, streamlining internal processes, accelerating digital transformation, enhancing customer experience and strengthening financial sustainability.”

TAAG disclosed that “the Executive Committee will be led by Jaime Miguel Ferreira Carneiro as Chief Executive Officer. The Executive Committee also includes Joelson da Silva de Sá e Vasconcelos, Executive Director for Commercial Affairs, and Sandro da Cunha Pereira Africano, Executive Director for Finance.”

“Mr. Clóvis Rosa remains Chairman of the Board of Directors, alongside Executive Directors Iuri Guerra Neto, responsible for Operations, Misayely Celestino Isaac Abias, responsible for Maintenance and Engineering, and Neide do Rosário Pinto Teixeira, responsible for Legal Affairs and Human Resources.” TAAG added.

TAAG stated its “next phase will focus on disciplined execution of strategic priorities, with a strong emphasis on operational excellence, sustainable growth and long term value creation.”

Chairman of the Board of Directors, TAAG Angola Airlines, Clóvis Rosa said: “We are building a stronger organisation that is better equipped to respond to the challenges of the aviation industry and to the expectations of our customers, shareholders and partners. This evolution of our governance structure reinforces TAAG’s ability to execute its strategy with greater agility, accountability and focus on results.”

According to TAAG, the key priorities for this new phase include: Enhancing operational efficiency and operational reliability; Strengthening the airline’s financial sustainability and continuously improving the customer journey and travel experience, amongst others. The priorities also include accelerating digital transformation and process modernization, developing new commercial growth opportunities and reinforcing TAAG’s competitiveness across domestic, regional and international markets.

According to the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jaime Miguel Ferreira Carneiro, “the new phase represents an opportunity to accelerate the delivery of the airline’s strategic objectives and build on the progress achieved in recent years.”

Mr. Carneiro said: “We assume this responsibility with a strong sense of purpose and a clear commitment to execution. Our focus will be on continuously improving performance indicators, creating sustainable value for shareholders, customers and employees, and strengthening TAAG’s position as one of Africa’s leading airlines.”

In his role as CEO, Mr. Miguel Caneiro replaces Mr. Nelson Pedro Rodrigues de Oliveira.
