Angolan national carrier, TAAG Angola Airlines has received the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) authorization to operate its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on commercial services to Europe, following the certification and oversight procedures applicable to operators serving destinations within the European Union.
TAAG Angola says, the authorization represents an important milestone in its “fleet renewal and modernization programme while reinforcing the operational safety, regulatory compliance and efficiency standards that support the airline’s sustainable growth strategy.”
“In its initial deployment phase, the Boeing 787-9 will be introduced on the Luanda Lisbon–Luanda route, one of the most strategic connections within TAAG’s international network. The aircraft will offer passengers a more modern and comfortable travel experience while enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening the airline’s competitiveness in the European market”, said the airline.
TAAG stated that the “integration of the Boeing 787 represents one of the most significant initiatives within TAAG’s ongoing transformation strategy” noting that this aligns with the airline’s “long-term vision of building a more efficient, sustainable and globally competitive operation.”
Chairman of the Board of Directors, TAAG Angola Airlines, Clóvis Rosa said: “The authorization granted by EASA for the operation of the Boeing 787 9 Dreamliner in Europe represents an important recognition of the technical, operational and regulatory compliance work carried out by TAAG. This achievement further strengthens the airline’s credibility among international authorities, partners and customers.”
