SOGEAC says: “The hubs of Addis Ababa and Casablanca also account for a large part of this traffic. In the freight sector, 2024 was marked by an increase in tonnages handled compared to the previous year (5,012 tonnes, +9.4%).”

On the acceleration of the expansion and modernization project, the airport reports that “with a work execution rate of 85%, the new infrastructures are now in the finalization phase. The administrative buildings will be able to house the staff by the end of April 2025. General aviation and cargo are also expected to be operational ahead of the peak season, providing new services to VIP passengers and airlines. The new PARIF to international standard will strengthen the security and safety of the platform.”

It is worth noting the arrival of many handling equipment, namely a brand new Cobus, tracmas, push-backs and other rolling machines. Thus, the renewal of work clothes for all agents but also the refreshment of existing infrastructure has made it possible to restore the image of Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport.
