Maureen Kahonge Becomes First Female Director At AFRAA

The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) has announced the “promotion of Maureen Kahonge to Director, Commercial & Communications at the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), effective February 2026.”

According to AFRAA, “with over 15 years of aviation experience and dedicated service to AFRAA, Maureen has demonstrated strong leadership, commercial excellence and a collaborative, results-driven approach. In her new role, she will drive commercial growth, strengthen strategic partnerships, and enhance the Association’s visibility across Africa and the global aviation community.”

AFRAA added that by the appointment Maureen becomes “the first Kenyan and first female Director at AFRAA”. This “milestone reflects AFRAA’s commitment to inclusive leadership and the increasing scale, complexity, and strategic importance of the commercial and communications portfolio to the Association’s long-term sustainability.”
