Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation & Aerospace Development, Barr. Festus Keyamo, SAN has dedicated his induction into the Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame to past and present aviation professionals and to the younger generation entering the industry.
Represented by the Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at the “Second Induction Ceremony & Unveiling Of Montage Of Honorees” which held in Lagos, Nigeria on September 4, 2026, Barr. Keyamo commended the organisers of the event for creating a platform that is “remembering, celebrating and preserving the contributions of those who have helped to build the Nigerian aviation sector.”
The Induction Ceremony brought together a wide range of aviation experts, veterans, stakeholders and professionals including Engr. Akin Olateru, Chairman, Omni Blu Aviation; Dr. Abdullahi Musa, Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA); Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN, Mr. Henry Agbebire; Capt. Dapo Olumide, Managing Director, Gateway International Airport; Dr (Mrs.) Anastatia Gbem, Director, Human Resources and Administration, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) amongst many others.

Barr. Keyamo noted that “aviation is not built by developing airports alone or flying aircraft, it is built by people, it is built by the men and women whose vision, courage, professionalism, innovation and sacrifices have moved the industry forward offered under very difficult circumstances.”
The “Unveiling Of Montage Of Honorees” took place at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, II (MM2) with a display of all honorees and their profile on a hall of fame. The Honourable Minister noted that the permanent hall of fame montage at MM2 is “especially significant because everyday thousands of Nigerians and visitors pass through our airports. To have the faces and stories who have shaped our aviation industry permanently displayed is a powerful way of saying to the next generation that you are standing on the shoulders of the people who came before you.”
The Minister called for an aviation industry built on safety, excellence, innovation, integrity and service that the next generation can be proud to inherit. He congratulated all inductees saying that their stories are now part of Nigeria’s aviation heritage.
