Egypt’s Minister Of Civil Aviation Celebrates 75th Anniversary Of Turkish Airlines’ Flights To Cairo

The Minister of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), Dr. Sameh El-Hefny has celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Turkish Airlines’ flights to Cairo.

Egypt CAA said: “In light of the relations of cooperation and strategic partnership between Egypt and Turkey, and in order to strengthen the revitalization of air and tourism traffic between the two countries, Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, participated in the celebration organized by Turkish Airlines on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the launch of its first flights to Cairo, in the presence of Ambassador Salih Mutlu Shen, Ambassador of Turkey to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Accountant Magdy Ishaq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cairo Air Port Company, and Mohamed Hamza, Regional Manager of Turkish Airlines, along with a group of leaders. Civil Aviation Sector and Representatives of the Concerned Authorities.”

“This occasion comes in light of the remarkable development of Egyptian-Turkish relations during the recent period, reflecting the continuous coordination and the common will to expand areas of cooperation, especially in the sectors of air transport, tourism and investment, as key pillars to support regional integration and achieve sustainable development.” Egypt CAA added.

Dr. El-Hefny “congratulated Turkish Airlines on this important historic milestone, which reflects a long journey of constructive cooperation between the two sides, stressing that the continuation of the Turkish national carrier’s work in the Egyptian market for more than seven decades represents a clear testimony to the strength of bilateral relations and mutual trust in growth and expansion opportunities.”

Dr. El-Hefny added that “the Ministry of Civil Aviation attaches great importance to enhancing cooperation with various international airlines, based on the vision of the Egyptian state, which supports attracting more air traffic and expanding the network of connectivity with regional and international markets, which contributes to consolidating Egypt’s position as a pivotal hub for civil aviation in the region.”

The Turkish Ambassador in Cairo, Salih Mutluşen, expressed “his pride in this occasion, stressing that the continuation of Turkish Airlines in the Egyptian market throughout those years reflects the strength and robustness of the relations between the two countries, and proves the great confidence that the Egyptian market enjoys as one of the most important strategic markets for the Turkish national carrier in the region, adding that the march of Turkish Airlines has witnessed remarkable growth in the Egyptian market since the launch of its first flights to Cairo on May 14, 1951, with two flights per week. It currently reaches about 32 flights per week from Cairo, in addition to a daily trip to the most popular tourist destination in Egypt, reflecting the growing demand for travel between the two countries.”
