Proflight Zambia, 14 Other Airlines Join IATA In 2026

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has welcomed Proflight Zambia and 14 other airlines to its membership since January 2026.

Proflight Zambia said it “completed the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) conducted in January 2025, and we are now Zambia’s only IATA-registered member airline.”

The Zambian carrier says the milestone reflects its “continued investment in safety, staff training, and operational excellence, further strengthening our position as a trusted regional carrier. Safety is and will always remain our top priority. Successfully completing the IOSA audit and being an IATA member airline reflects the professionalism, discipline, and dedication of our teams and reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement while strengthening our position as a trusted airline in the region.”

Proflight Zambia started scheduled operations in June 2005. From its base in Lusaka, the airline connects key domestic destinations and serves regional flights to Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa.

Proflight Zambia “operates a fleet of 6 Bombardier CRJ-200 jets and 5 Jetstream 41 turboprops, and continues to grow its network by partnering with major global carriers to strengthen regional connectivity”, according to IATA.

The 14 other airlines include; Akasa Air, AJet, Aero Mongolia, JetSmart, Riyadh Air, ABX Air, Aer Lingus, Aegean Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Air Greenland, Porter Airlines, Lufthansa City Airlines, Eastar Jet and Chengdu Airlines.
